Camera Rosetum @ The Archway, Brooklyn
Camera Rosetum was a site-specific public art video projection, designed for the Archway concourse beneath the Manhattan Bridge in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY.
Projection-mapped animation loops illuminated the span of the tunnel during the DUMBO Arts Festival. Fields of computer-generated roses, ornamental forms, and streaks of light blossom and dissolve in a continuous cycle, evoking ceiling frescoes and stained-glass windows inspired by the Archway’s vaulted, cathedral-like architecture.
This was the first public event presented in the Archway on the occasion of its reopening, after being closed to the public for 20 years. Since then, the Archway has been the site of numerous ongoing projections and public artworks.
