Two monstrous avatars of humanity’s future engage in an escalating wordplay battle based on the title of Darwin’s text On The Origin Of Species. The term “speccies” is slang for the sci-fi subgenre of so-called speculative biology’, which references the polymorphous possibilities and adaptabilities of the future of the body — physical, digital, or otherwise.
