Floralwall (skull & void)

Floralwall is a series of animations created over a period of several years. Each version would be rescaled and repurposed according to the variable natures of the exhibition and display technology. Fields of computer-generated flowers continuously bloom and perish in a cyclical loop, in a contemporary reimagining of the still life, the decorative, and the vanitas in art.

Floralwall at MoMA

I was invited to create a projection installation at the Museum of Modern Art’s annual film benefit gala. The animation Floralwall was reconfigured for the space and projected in three locations: as a ‘wallpaper’ on the stage curtain, on the step-and-repeat wall in the audience reception area, and at a towering scale in the museum’s grand atrium.

I'm interested in the idea of 'wallpaper' as a medium that is situated precisely at the intersection of architecture, art, and design.
